Design Concept
Inspired by the tall roof tops and intricate timber panelling of classic Thai architecture, Villa Sur La Colline is composed of two main pavilions separated by a terraced walkway. An additional smaller pavilion at the back of the property serves as a gourmet kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances and a generous walk-in pantry. There are subtle elements of Balinese design throughout the villa, which has been carefully furnished in wooden artefacts, aesthetic pieces and textiles collected on travels across South East Asia.
Living Pavilion
The main living pavilion is a split level structure with an integrated lounge and dining area perfect for long evenings of social interaction. A striking timber staircase leads up to a mezzanine library where bookcases are lined with editions of old encyclopaedias and a computer is permanently set up for convenient computer access. Eclectic furnishings, unusual trinkets and antique curios give this environment a warm home style ambience.
